I’m Phylip James and I’ve been helping people in Northampton pass their driving tests for over 15 years.

I specialise in preparing you for your automatic driving test. Getting to grips with the clutch, gears and accelerator of a manual car isn’t easy and learning to drive in an automatic car has the following benefits:

• Gain confidence more quickly with no possibility of stalling the car.
• You’ll have more time to concentrate on the road ahead and aspects of driving other than changing gear.
• Automatic cars are better suited to stop/start urban driving especially in rush hour.
• Learn faster – you’ll need fewer lessons than with a manual car.
• Pass easier – there are less possible faults in an automatic driving test.

I am a fully qualified Grade 6 Approved Driving Instructor. The Grade 6 part is important because it’s the highest grading a driving instructor can achieve – only 6% of all Approved Driving Instructors are Grade 6.
